How long will my cake last?Updated a month ago

Every cake leaves our bakery fresh, and that's truly when it's at its very best. For the optimal experience, we recommend devouring it on the day of delivery (a task we suspect won't be too difficult!).

Please follow these cake care steps:

  • Consume within the expiry date shown on the packaging.
  • If the cake won't be eaten within a few hours, pop it in the fridge to keep it fresh.
  • Your cake may arrive cold. Before serving, allow your cake to come to room temperature for  3–4 hours in advance to allow the buttercream and sponge to soften beautifully
  • For our larger covered or naked celebration cakes we recommend removing any white collar and clear acetate whilst your cake is still cold (ideally as soon as it arrives or is taken out of the fridge), then allow your cake to come to room temperature for around 6-8 hours. (but please make sure it's not left in a space that is too warm !) This may take a shorter or longer time depending on the temperature of your room. Once the buttercream has a soft, whipped double cream like texture and your sponge is moist your cake is ready to eat!
  • If you don’t let your cake return to room temperature, the sponge will seem dry and the buttercream will be hard and seem as if it is stale.
