My cake has been delayed by the courier — will it still be fresh and safe to eat?Updated 6 days ago
Yes — absolutely. We've specifically engineered our packaging to handle exactly this situation, and we want you to feel completely confident if your delivery is running late.
- Your cake is despatched very cold
- Your cake is packed with gel ice packs which are designed to keep your cake looking beautiful in transit.
- Our cakes have been fully tested and proven to be fresh and safe to eat without refrigeration throughout the transit period. A delay will not affect the freshness, quality, or food safety of your cake.
Once your cake is delivered, pop it straight in the fridge if you're not serving it immediately, remove the white collar while cold, and allow 6–8 hours to come to room temperature before serving. When your cake is ready to eat the sponge and buttercream will be soft. If your sponge is hard and dry and buttercream crumbly, this means your cake is still too cold.
If you have any concerns about the condition of your cake on arrival, please photograph the box and contents and contact us at [email protected].
