My Celebration Cake has arrived and the buttercream looks dry and old — is something wrong?Updated 6 days ago
Not at all, your cake is absolutely fine! This is completely normal for a cake that has been shipped cold. When cold, buttercream can appear firm, slightly dry, or even a little cracked on the surface. This is not a defect. Follow the serving instructions — remove the white collar while cold, then allow 6–8 hours at room temperature — and you'll see the buttercream transform into a silky, soft, whipped-cream-like texture.
